Rockvale and Eagleville are the quiet corner of Rutherford County — Highway 99 and Highway 41A, the Harpeth headwaters, cedar ridges and pasture — and the trees are the biggest in the county: white oaks and sugar maples that have stood over farmhouses since before the Civil War, plus the cedar thickets that take over any field that isn't mowed. The EF4 that came through on Good Friday 2009 started in this corner and cut a path all the way across the county, and the storms since — including the May 20, 2025 outbreak that closed roads around Eagleville — keep working on the same big, old, shallow-rooted trees.

Do I need a permit to clear or remove trees out here?
Unincorporated Rutherford County has no tree-removal permit for private property, in our experience. Eagleville's small city limits cover trees on city property and the right-of-way. Your land, your trees.
Mulching or dozing for a house pad?
Mulching. The soil out here is thin over limestone, and a dozer takes it with the trees. A mulcher leaves the roots, the soil and a bed of ground cedar.
Can you handle a 100-foot oak over a farmhouse?
Yes — usually with a crane set up in the yard, sometimes rigged if the tree has room. We've done plenty of them.
How far out do you come?
All of southwest Rutherford County and over the line into Bedford, Marshall and Williamson when the job is worth the drive.
